Short version: we don't collect personal data. No accounts, names, phone numbers or payment details. The one exception is below: an email address you choose to give us with feedback.
Stored on your device only (localStorage): your picks, streak, freezes, scoring version, a first-visit date, your age-gate confirmation, a random ghost code, friends' ghost links and any nicknames you type for them, an optional nickname for yourself (used only in the trash-talk line you choose to copy), badges you've earned and which results you've already watched revealed. None of this is sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
Anonymous analytics: we use cookie-free analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) to count page views and simple events such as "board submitted", "returned after 1 day" or "share link opened". Events carry the scoring version (v3.1 or v3.2) and, for share links, a random code that identifies the link, not you. The analytics provider sees standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to produce aggregate counts and does not use cookies.
Link tags and device counts: if you opened a link with a tag like ?ref=p1, that label is saved on your device and sent with events so we can see which link people came from, and your browser keeps a random ID whose scrambled (hashed) form lets us count how many different devices played each day; we never store your IP address, name or any cookie with it.
Share and challenge links contain a random code and, for challenges, your picks for that day. Anyone you send a link to can see those picks after they lock their own board.
Feedback ("Something broken?"): if you send feedback, we receive your message plus the page, scoring version and board date. An email address is optional and is the only personal data we ever collect; we use it only to reply to you, and nothing else. Feedback is processed and stored by our form provider, Formspree. Ask us to delete it any time.
Board ratings (😀/😐/😡) are sent as anonymous analytics events with no ID.
Children: the game is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect any data from anyone.
